William G A Hensley

Dad was not very big, only 5'6, but he had a big heart.
He was taken from us just as he was getting the hang of life at the young age of 47. His passions
were his family and shooting. He had quite a collection of guns and knives, and was especially
proud of his .357 magnum. At weekends he was trampling through the mud on farms with a shotgun
over his arm.
One thing that changed all our lives was when he arranged for us to move out of London and into
the 'country' just north of Enfeild, we had an immediate change to our way of life, and this I'm sure
put us in a better position to move on in life.
I remember a story he once told me about work. He was a Scientific Instrument Maker by trade
and was making needles for a hospital by hand. When his boss asked him why he was taking so
long in sharpening each one, he replied, "if he was to be injected, he wouldn't want a blunt needle
going into his arm". When told to hurry up the production or face the sack, he said goodbye and
walked out. That was the type of man he was.
Love you and miss you.
